A Gentle Turn:  Homeopathy for Breech Baby

When the expectant mother, 37 weeks pregnant with her fifth baby, contacted me, her baby had remained breech for the previous two weeks. She was due for an external cephalic version (manual turning) in two days and was hoping to try a natural, gentle method first, homeopathy.

Background

Her pregnancy had been smooth and healthy. She had:

  • No complications (no hypertension, diabetes, or nausea).

  • Normal appetite and sleep, waking occasionally to use the bathroom.

  • A balanced temperature, not overly chilly or hot.

  • Emotionally calm, managing four children with patience and composure.

  • Past labours: each began with water breaking but without spontaneous contractions, leading to induced labour with Pitocin.

  • Goal: to avoid a C-section and, ideally, to encourage both the baby’s natural turning and a spontaneous labour this time.

Homeopathic Assessment

Homeopathic Support Plan

After an in-depth consultation, a personalized homeopathic remedy was prescribed to encourage natural alignment and relaxation of the uterine and pelvic area.
She followed the plan for two days while practicing simple positional exercises and deep breathing to support the process.

Outcome

Two days later, She wrote back:

“I just got back from my appointment and baby is head down. They didn’t do any maneuver.”

The ultrasound confirmed that the baby had turned on its own without any external manipulation.
No side effects, no discomfort,  simply a natural repositioning as balance was restored.

Reflections

This case beautifully illustrates how homeopathy can support the body’s innate wisdom.
Rather than forcing an outcome, the remedy gently encourages alignment, emotional, energetic, and physical allowing nature to take its intended course.

Every mother and baby are unique, and remedies are always prescribed based on the individual picture, not just the diagnosis.
